What to pitch

Pitch a defined subject with a useful point of view: a comparison of approaches, an explanation of a creative process, a project-planning question or a considered account of how materials and choices shape a result. We are especially interested in subjects that readers can explore without specialist access or risky procedures.

What makes a strong proposal

Tell us the central question, why it matters to readers and the main points the piece would cover. Include a brief outline and note any sources, images or relevant interests that could affect how the proposal is assessed. Keep the idea distinct from material already covered on the site.

Please send a proposal rather than a complete unsolicited article. We cannot promise publication or a response by a particular date. Do not include confidential information or material you do not have the right to share.
